Multimodal understanding of brain structure and function in anxiety

Overview

We have collected multimodal neuroimaging data (structural, diffusion and functional MRI) from a cohort of individuals (n = 100) with different levels of anxiety.

This project will undertake MRI analyses of each data type and integrate the findings to better understand high sensitivity measures of brain structure and function with anxiety, and how these may respond to an exercise treatment intervention (n = 70 follow-up scans).

This project would be suited to a neuroscience or computer science student who is interested in MRI and large-scale data analysis.

Note: While project funding is provided, this opportunity does not cover postgraduate scholarship funding. If prospective students are interested in applying for a central University of Otago PhD scholarship, an A+ (preferable) or A equivalent GPA is required, with evidence of research publications preferred – please contact the Graduate Research School at Otago for grade conversions. These scholarships are highly competitive and not guaranteed.
