Overview
Dr Jan Breward (1963–1998) graduated in medicine from the University of Otago in 1987 and spent his early years as a house surgeon in Wellington, Whakatane, Auckland and the Solomon Islands.
He was a clinical lecturer in the Department of General Practice, Dunedin School of Medicine, from 1992 to 1998, specialising in medical education.
He had a love of music and the bush, and was a strong supporter of Amnesty International.
