Overview
The College Memorial Window is dedicated to all staff and students who die while at the College of Education.
Its creation was motivated by the death of Arawa Cullen-Bain (19) on 20 June 1994, and the dedication ceremony acknowledged the lives of Arawa, and fellow college attendees Kiwa Brouwer and Roger Edwards.
The butterfly, in the window's design, is seen as an air-borne symbol of transformation; the swirling colours of the abstract close-up of an unfurling rose evoke land, water, and fire.
