Overview
In November 2013 the Society of Otago University Law Students (SOULS) in conjunction with the University of Otago Law Faculty commemorated the life and contribution of graduate Greg King to our legal community.
Greg King was a leading criminal defence lawyer and a fierce advocate of the right of all people to gain representation. In the belief that he was defending the rights these people were afforded, he took many cases that went against the tide of public opinion.
Faculty members, students, local practitioners and family gathered to plant a tree in memory of Greg. The tree is situated on the river bank of the Leith adjacent to the Law Faculty of which Greg was a proud and accomplished graduate.
