Overview
Gill Parata (1947–2003) came to the University in 1991 as assistant registrar in the International Office and, at the time of her sudden death on 15 September 2003, was head of the Alumni Office.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr Graeme Fogelberg, described her as “utterly dedicated to the University of Otago, an inspired team leader, incredibly devoted to building strong alumni ties around the world, and quite simply, a very fine human being”.
