Overview
Join a leading-edge research team tackling some of the biggest challenges in biomedical science.
Are you passionate about biomedical research? Curious about how the hidden layers of gene regulation can drive cancer? Ready to make a difference through science?
The Chatterjee Lab is offering opportunities for projects in cancer epigenetics. Our research focuses on understanding how dynamic epigenetic alterations, primarily DNA methylation, contribute to tumour development, resistance to therapy, and metastasis in colorectal, prostate, lung, and pancreatic cancers.
We are collaborating with top clinicians in New Zealand and internationally with the aim to contribute in improving patient outcome.
Our projects span both wet-lab and computational approaches, and involve:
- Handling clinical samples from patients, preparing next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries
- Performing contemporary DNA methylation profiling and bioinformatic/AI analysis
- Handling and interpreting large epigenomic datasets from cancer patients and model systems
- Applying a range of state-of-the-art molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of molecular biology, bioinformatics, and translational medicine.
