What are preliminary lectures?

Preliminary lectures are short presentations that provide information about the papers you are enrolled in. Many departments will hold preliminary lectures for semester 1 and full year papers on the Friday before the first week of lectures. This is the start date for most courses for StudyLink purposes.

Information for your papers will also be available on Blackboard from the Friday before Orientation week.

There are no preliminary lectures for papers held in semester 2.

Timetable

Preliminary lectures for 2026 are generally held on Friday, 20 February.
