Information

With the late Lindsay Beatrice Hesketh Tassell as the benefactor, this scholarship has been established to support a University of Otago student undertaking cancer research towards a postgraduate qualification.

The scholarship may be held only by a PhD candidate who is a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and who is undertaking cancer-related research.Selection of the scholarship shall be made in consultation with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.Preference shall be given to candidates studying within the Faculty of Medicine (Otago School of Medical Sciences, Dunedin School of Medicine, Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Wellington School of Medicine and Health Sciences).

Applicants must usually be:

  • seeking to obtain their first doctoral qualification
  • undertaking cancer research
  • New Zealand citizen or New Zealand Residence Class Visa Holder
