Māmari is Priest Assistant at St Michael's and All Angels in Kelburn, Wellington. Her primary ministry and theological interests involve Māori Christianity and Christianity among Māori.

Māmari has previously worked in Corrections, Māori broadcasting, and as a Reader at the Faculty of Law, Victoria University of Wellington, where she researched law and language, Māori and the New Zealand legal system, and social security law. Māmari is married and has three children.
