Research interests and activities
Elinor is a Senior Research Fellow for the Housing and Health Research Programme at the University of Otago, Wellington.
Her PhD investigated the power relationship between tenant and landlord and the history of renter activism in Aotearoa New Zealand. Subsequent research has looked at eviction experiences, Healthy Housing Initiatives, and the development of mixed tenure communities.
Her current research foci include the effect of housing interventions on wellbeing, ventilation behaviour, the use of community rooms in multiunit housing, and public housing tenants’ neighbourhood experiences.
