Research interests and activities  

Emerita Professor Philippa Howden-Chapman is founder director of two major long-standing research groups: He Kāinga Oranga / Housing and Health Research Programme and the New Zealand Centre for Sustainable Cities, which have had a major influence on housing, urban policy and health.  She has received a number of awards, including the Prime Minister's Science Team Prize, Queen's Service Order and a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
