Social Life at Aquinas College
Aquinas has developed a calendar of events that keep people busy and provides sufficient opportunity for residents to meet each other and interact with each other.
There are several annual events such as the Ball, Ski Trip, Back to School Party and mid-Winter Christmas dinner. The College also provides other sporting, social, cultural and community events as well.
Sports
Sport is a major part of College life. There are several sport teams in the College that compete in local leagues and against other Colleges. Aquinas is one of the most successful sporting Colleges at Otago; currently holding both the Colleges Basketball and Rugby Sevens titles.
There is a gymnasium and basketball court that is well utilised for sport events in the College and is a great place to release energy as a study break!
Volunteering
Aquinas believes in community service and there are various opportunities for you to participate in community volunteering.
The Scarfie card campaign is a great chance to voluntarily do jobs for locals in the community and earn rewards while you are doing this.
Aquinas floor wars
The floor wars competition is legendary at Aquinas! Floors compete in a variety of events to have the honor of being the annual floor champion. This is a great chance to bond with the people on your floor in healthy competition.
