Pre-conference Postgraduate Workshop

Pre-conference Postgraduate Workshop on 27 November, 2017

In conjunction with the 22nd NZASIA Conference, we will offer postgraduate students the opportunity to participate in a pre-conference workshop, 
This workshop provides a forum for students to to discuss their research, exchange ideas, and explore career pathways both in the academia and in the broader national/international communities. The workshop is free and open only to postgraduate students who have registered and paid for the main conference. Numbers are limited and applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

The workshop will include two sessions:

Session I  Academic Pathways

Students will do a five-minute presentation on their thesis for valuable feedback from experienced scholars, publishers, and journal editors who will lead a discussion on the challenges on thesis vs. book writing and developing conference papers for publication. 

Session II: Other Professional Pathways 

The ASIA NZ Foundation will run this session. Topics covered: Track II, media, education, business, and many other areas in which PhD and "serious" expertise in Asia is needed in NZ.
