Welcome to Theatre Studies at the University of Otago.
Our work is characterised by the opportunity to explore both
the theory and practice of theatre, working in close collaboration
with other students and staff. Teaching methods enable students
to become active in their own learning. You can take papers
that allow you to explore the full range of theatrical endeavour,
from the study of Shakespeare in performance to the devising
and performing of your own work. Because Theatre Studies is
a relatively small section, it permits individual attention
and allows you to test out ideas in a stimulating creative
environment, working in Allen Hall,
a fully-equipped theatre. You will also participate in our
unique Lunchtime Theatre
programme.
