Who can apply
To apply for Otago's residential colleges or University Flats (UniFlats), you must be a current or future student of the University of Otago (including the Pathway | Te Huarahi programme) or Otago Polytechnic.
How to apply
If you are applying to study at the University of Otago, start your residential college or University Flats application online through eVision.
Create your eVision account
To create your eVision account, you need to choose a qualification to apply for, and start your study application.
If you're not sure yet what you want to study, that's OK! You can easily change your selected qualification in eVision later. You can create an account and apply for accommodation in the meantime.
Start your accommodation application
In your eVision portal, find the link under “My details” for residential colleges and Uni Flats. This will take you to Te Puna, Otago's StarRez accommodation portal, where you can register and begin your accommodation application.
Continue a partially completed application
If you have already started your application for residential colleges or UniFlats and need to log back in to complete it, you can log in to Te Puna directly using your personal email address.
Pathway | Te Huarahi students
If you are a Pathway student enrolling in the DipArts, DipCom or DipSc, please follow the standard first year accommodation application process, starting in your eVision portal.
If you are a Foundation Studies Certificate student, you are not required to create an eVision account. You can apply for accommodation via the student accommodation portal, Te Puna.
Otago Polytechnic students
Otago Polytechnic students can only apply for limited places to stay at Salmond College. Application is via the student accommodation portal, Te Puna.
