The Homestay programme matches Pathway and English Language Centre students with a local host family in Dunedin. Pathway students can also apply to Otago’s residential colleges.

Homestay

Both Pathway | Te Huarahi and English Language Centre students can apply for accommodation through the Homestay programme, which is managed by the Pathway and English Language Centre.

Homestay allows students to experience a family lifestyle in Dunedin. As a Homestay resident, you have your own private, furnished bedroom in your host family's home, and are provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. You will have a key to the host family's home, so you can be as independent as you wish.

Residential colleges (Pathway | Te Huarahi only)

Pathway | Te Huarahi students can apply to stay in any of Otago's residential colleges.

Otago's residential college communities offer an ideal study and living environment for first-year students, with live-in pastoral care and academic support, and cultural, sporting and social opportunities. The colleges are located on or close to campus, and most are within walking distance of the city centre.
