Background and interests
I am a social anthropologist with special interests in health, choice in pregnancy, medicalization, and intercultural communication. My honours research project examined the experiences of North American study abroad students with sex and dating at the University of Otago. My masters project looked at New Zealand midwives’ experiences of offering screening and testing for Down syndrome and other genetic differences.
