Research interests
I am a Research Fellow and Teaching Fellow with a background in Social Anthropology. I am interested in the role indigenous knowledges, specifically Mātauranga Māori, have in developing environments that benefit student learning in Aotearoa. My research interests include te reo Māori use at university, the importance of rangatahi voice and the normalisation of te reo Māori and mātauranga Māori in Western-dominated spaces.

Background and Interests
I am a social anthropologist with a special interest in wānanga as a methodology. Indigenous knowledge systems regarding hauora or health and wellbeing have always been an area of interest, especially as it allows the power of pūrākau to help inform our everyday lives. I have been fortunate to research into te reo Māori use in university, which has seen me connect with staff and students on their perceptions and expectations of te reo within universities.
