Last week, research on glowworms from the Department of Biochemistry attracted widespread media interest.
Professor Kurt Krause and Dr Miriam Sharpe, along with the Department of Chemistry's Professor Nigel Perry and former PhD student Dr Oliver Watkins, published research revealing the identities of the molecules that the glowworm uses to make light in the journal Scientific Reports.
The research generated wide media interest across TV, radio, print, and of course the internet, culminating in an appearance on the popular TV panel news quizz "7 Days".
Although not all the media reports were entirely accurate, it was great to see some of the research from the Department of Biochemistry highlighted nationally.
