Research
Understanding metabolic dysfunction in Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Srijan joined the Department of Medicine at Christchurch to pursue his PhD in the NoM Lab. Originally from India, he developed a strong foundational interest in mitochondrial biology and its role in disease, particularly concerning cardiovascular and metabolic dysfunction, during his integrated master's studies.
His current doctoral research focuses on unraveling the underlying mechanisms of metabolic dysfunction in Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
