    Learn the importance of incorporating ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and indigenous values and mindsets in your entrepreneurial thinking and the opportunities this creates in new venture development.

    What does it mean to be a responsible entrepreneur? This paper teaches the fundamental theories, strategies, and frameworks of entrepreneurial thinking with particular emphasis placed on a values-based approach to business design and new venture development. Students will engage with the importance of incorporating ethical, sustainable, inclusive and indigenous values and mindsets in entrepreneurship and the opportunities this creates in new venture development. Future leaders in business and society will need to be entrepreneurial and responsible agents. This paper aims to inspire students to be such leaders.

    Students who successfully complete the paper will:

    • Recognise the importance of sustainability in business planning
    • Demonstrate how Māori and Pasifika philosophies intersect with Western perspectives on business strategy and growth
