Research

Erin Penno is a Senior Lecturer in public health in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. Her research spans the fields of health systems, health policy and health economics to explore how to optimise outcomes and improve the quality, sustainability and equity of health systems. Key research interests include health system design and health care delivery, health funding, and the relationship between the public and private health sectors. She is particularly passionate about strengthening and improving the performance of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health system.
