It is my privilege to be the Academic Manager and Professional Practice Fellow at the University of Otago College of Education. As an educator I started my own journey at the Dunedin College of Education, graduating in 1995, followed by many years teaching across schools in Ōtepoti. I have over 25 years’ experience in the New Zealand Education system, as a kaiako, Deputy Principal and for 12 years as Principal, before joining the team at the University of Otago College of Education in 2022, as Director of Education Support Services, moving into my current position in 2024. I continue to challenge myself as tauira, working towards the completion of a Doctorate in Education, researching into an area that I am passionate about, ongoing professional learning and development for Principals in Aotearoa.
I firmly believe, as an educator we are in a privileged position to support and guide our tamariki in their educational journey, including the many and varied facets, challenges, successes, and experiences this may encompass. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the talented people at the College of Education, supporting the educational journey of our tauira.
