Research

Marie's current research involves:

  • Psychotherapy and psychosocial interventions for bipolar disorder and other recurrent mood disorders,
  • improving health care delivery for mental disorders, particularly bipolar disorder,
  • clinical effectiveness studies,
  • conduct of studies in 'real-world' clinical settings,
  • functional recovery in mood disorders,
  • new therapies for mood disorders,
  • cost-effectiveness of service delivery for recurrent mood disorders,
  • psychosocial interventions for long-term health conditions,
  • medication adherence in long-term conditions

She has expertise in a variety of research methods but has particular expertise qualitative research methods and discourse analysis.
