Research

Lynn has a range of research interests including medical education, long-term conditions, quality in primary care and particularly health services research.

Lynn joined the Department in 1995 and was appointed Head of Department in 2018.

She graduated from medical school at Dalhousie University in Canada and immigrated to New Zealand to work in General Practice in the late 1980’s. She continues active general practice as a partner at Brooklyn Medical Centre. She also holds the position of Medical Director and is part of Executive Leadership team of Tū Ora Compass Health, the largest Primary Health Organisation in the lower North Island.

She has a strong interest in clinical governance and Chairs the regional Laboratory Alliance Leadership Team and CCDHB Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals Network Steering Group. She also applies her professional expertise as the Chair of Impairment Committees for the NZ Education Council and Convenor of Professional Conduct Committees for the NZ Medical Council.

In 2011 she was awarded the honour of Distinguished Fellowship of the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP).
