Research

Aamir holds positions as a Research Fellow/Lecturer in the Centre for Bioengineering, Department of Radiology, and is a visiting research fellow at the University of Canterbury. His research interests are in the areas of radiation physics, medical imaging physics particularly radiation detection by small pixel detectors, and include biomedical imaging and spectral or multi-energy CT. He has always enjoyed interdisciplinary research.

His main research interest is in Spectral CT imaging and single photon counting detectors and to develop applications associated with this new technology. His vision is to translate his findings from the small animal spectral CT system to human spectral imaging. The interdisciplinary nature of this research encompasses physics, mathematics, engineering, biological sciences, computer science, and imaging sciences. He gets great pleasure from such a diversity of academic interactions both local and international. Previously, he was involved in Radiation oncology as a Medical Physicist at Shifa International Hospital, Pakistan”.
