Te Tāreitanga 2026
Te Tāreitanga 2026: Health workforce planning research mini symposium
This one-day collaborative event will host health workforce planning and development researchers, policy, industry partners, health professionals and union representatives, students and emerging workforce voices.
The day will examine four intersecting areas: quantifying workforce requirements; the importance of place (integrating geospatial analysis); skills and capability; and societal representation. A critical lens will be brought across all four areas to understand how research can help to advance equity as a focus of health workforce planning, particularly for Māori, Pacific and disabled peoples, rural populations and those experiencing high socioeconomic deprivation.
