Born and raised in Samoa, Clinton moved to New Zealand in 2019 to study at the University of Otago where he completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Media, Film & Communications. After graduating he returned to Samoa to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a bilateral relations officer. Clinton worked on various projects that worked to develop and maintain relations with Samoa’s bilateral partners.
Clinton moved back to Dunedin in January 2024, to pursue his passions in student support and engagement, and is currently a Programme Coordinator with POPO (Pacific Opportunities Programmes at Otago).
Clinton's focus is to ensure that Pacific students undertaking a Health Sciences degree are well supported and the work of POPO fosters long-term engagements with students throughout their university journey.
