Support for Staff
The University of Otago recognises the importance of creating an environment where staff feel comfortable and safe to talk about their disability. The University will make reasonable accommodation to meet employees' needs and to enable equal participation of people with disabilities.
Accessibility at Otago
Campus Design for Access and Mobility Policy
The purpose of this Policy is to ensure that, where practicable, all University of Otago buildings, grounds, walkways and car parks are accessible to students, staff and visitors with disabilities.
There are a number of dedicated mobility car parks across the Dunedin campus. These parks are available for University of Otago Mobility Parking permit holders only and administered by the Disability Information and Support Office.
The University offers courses to enable staff to better understand barriers that people can face within working environment and to think about ways in which we can make the University more inclusive and supportive.
Health and Safety
The University of Otago is committed to providing a safe and healthy place of work for staff, students and visitors.
