Department of Languages & Culture: Spanish programme

Fluency in the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world will give you insider access to people and societies in Europe, North America, and South America.

We teach Spanish from beginning to advanced levels, as well as courses on Hispanic culture.

Spanish culture has contributed greatly to the development of literature, science, philosophy, music and the visual arts in the English-speaking world, so that the study of Spanish enhances the study of many other disciplines.

You can enrol in our beginner level course SPAN131 with NO previous knowlege of Spanish.

If you have previous knowledge of Spanish, contact us and we will help you choose the most suitable courses and degree pathway - Email: languages@otago.ac.nz
