We hold a range of educational resources for sale, including seashore guides and books with activities designed for primary and intermediate school-age students that can be carried out during a class trip to the shore, as well as classroom-based pre- and post-trip activities.
Seashore resources
Handy, bilingual guides (te reo Māori and English) to the common animals and plants living on the seashores of Aotearoa New Zealand. The Northern and Southern New Zealand Rocky Shore Guides and Sandy and Muddy Shore Guides are available in card or waterproof versions. They are also available in pdf format.
Books
The New Zealand Seashore Guide, written by NZMSC staff, can be ordered through us, or directly from the publisher’s website. If you are from a school you can receive a 20% discount by contacting Marine Science.
