The Edgar Diabetes and Obesity Research Centre is celebrating 20 years of research with a symposium on Friday 24 November. Registration for this event will open soon.

In 2003, EDOR became the first of the University of Otago Leading Thinkers initiatives with a generous donation by Sir Eion Edgar, which was matched by the New Zealand government, to establish the Edgar National Centre for Diabetes Research.

Two decades on, the Research Centre encompasses 24 research groups across several cities, has published more than 2000 research articles, raised more than $200 million in research funding, and has widened its focus from diabetes to include obesity, sleep, nutrition and the food environment.
