Are you an elite or sub-elite track and field athlete who has been diagnosed with Achilles tendinopathy in the last 3 to 12 months?

The aim of this research project is to investigate the lived experiences of elite and sub-elite track and field athletes who have or have had Achilles tendinopathy. The study aims to get a greater understanding of elite and sub-elite track and field athletes' experiences with the treatment of Achilles tendinopathy and how the injury has had an impact on the whole individual, including their sporting and social lives.

Who can participate in this project?

You may be able to participate if:

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Have competed at a national or international level in Track and Field in the last 2 years
  • Have been diagnosed with Achilles tendinopathy by your physiotherapist or health care provider in the last 3 to 12 months

What will you be asked to do?

If you are eligible for the study you will be asked to:

  • Complete an online questionnaire (approximately 15 mins)
  • Attend an interview in person or via video or phone call. The interview will last for up to 1 hour
