Have you had experiences with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for a child or young person with high or very high funding (ORS)?
Our study is looking at the experiences of whānau/family, their disabled child or young person, and professionals in the IEP process.
Who can participate in this study?
You may be able to participate if:
- you are the whānau, parent or caregiver of a child with ORS funding for extra learning needs, or
- you are the disabled child or young person in this family.
and - you have attended two or more IEPs.
What will you be asked to do?
Whānau or family
If you are eligible for the study:
- You will be invited to take part in an individual 60-90 minute interview (in person or virtual).
- We will talk about your experiences in IEPs.
- You are welcome to bring a support person along.
- You will be invited to review and comment on the written interview.
Adult participants will receive a $50 gift voucher as a thank you for your time.
Child or young person
If you are eligible for the study:
- Children and young people will be asked simple questions using their way of communicating and other support (e.g., a social story or visuals).
- The interview will be no more than 20 minutes.
- Whānau will be present, and we can stop the interview at any time.
Children and young people will receive a certificate.
