Research

My primary research interests focus on ion channel regulation and physiology, with a particular emphasis on the calcium-activated family of potassium channels.

My research also extends to understanding protein trafficking pathways; exploring how membrane-bound proteins—particularly ion channels—are transported to their correct cellular destinations, as well as the implications of trafficking defects in pathological conditions, such as cystic fibrosis (CF).

In my research, I make use of a variety of protein-based biochemical assays, Ussing chamber eletrophysiology, and fluorescence imaging techniques to answer fundamental questions about the trafficking pathways and regulation of ion channels.
