Tanya is the Director of Property and Campus Development, a recent merger of the Property Services and Campus Development Divisions. Tanya provides leadership, direction and vision across the University’s property portfolio to deliver value through the unique character and purpose of its places with a focus on campus master planning, space utilisation and managing and developing our facilities across New Zealand.
Tanya Syddall has 25 years’ experience in the building engineering and construction industry in Australia and New Zealand. Tanya has a breadth of knowledge in delivering complex capital projects with extensive experience in the health and education sectors. Tanya is passionate about connecting the WHY and the HOW in projects (why we build buildings and the journey of achieving positive outcomes), fostering better outcomes through engagement, collaboration and risk allocation, and her contribution to the wider construction industry and communities in which she works.
Tanya relocated to New Zealand with her family in early 2019 spending a couple of years on our Christchurch campus before moving to Dunedin in early 2021.
