Why your site needs an About us page
This page's purpose is to give users the back story to the department/division/conference/research theme. It helps towards building a relationship with your visitors.
There is more detail about who you are on the About us page than what would be on the homepage. Not everyone will come via the home page and this is your chance to share your backstory.
The ideal length for this page is a couple of paragraphs (250-300 words). If your content exceeds this, break it up into a couple of other pages eg. History, Welcome etc
