Help make positive changes at the University and be part of something more this year with Green Your Scene
Join us and become part of the movement.
Green Your Scene celebrates the power of staff and students taking small steps together every day to help make our University a more sustainable place.
How it works
Joining Green Your Scene is as simple as forming or joining a team in either a college or workplace and then registering below.
People working, studying or living in the same area get to work together to implement sustainable action across the workplace or college Green Your Scene guide.
To earn an award with Green Your Scene, teams must complete actions across our six themes: engagement, resource use, well-being, energy, travel and leadership and innovation.
There are two guides which have been created for workplace and colleges. The Green Your Scene guides are designed to be relevant to your space and act as a catalyst for change where you may not have known where to start.
Throughout the year, your team can request support from the Sustainability Office for any steps you may need extra help to achieve. Events occur throughout the year to support teams and champions.
Towards the end of the year teams provide evidence of the steps they have taken and submit their activity reports. Successful teams will receive a seedling, sapling or kōwhai award.
What you can expect
Green Your Scene requires a fair amount of team motivation. Teams succeed in this programme when they are equally passionate and determined to complete the actions at hand.
Consider whether you and your team members are prepared for this commitment before you register your team, as the programme is designed to enable teams to get stuck into the actions with little support.
The Sustainability Office are here to help, however you should be prepared to dedicate time and effort to the programme in order to be successful in the award levels.
