Alice joined the Biostatistics Group – Ratonga Tauanga Koiora, University of Otago, Wellington (UOW) | Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo ki Te Whanga-Nui-a-Tara as a Research Fellow and Biostatistician in 2021.

Alice's research interests focus on the applications of Epidemiology and Statistics in Medicine, Psychology and Public Health. She studied Economics at the University of Auckland and Harvard University, and has an MSc in Statistics from the University of Auckland and a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Canterbury.

In her current role at the UOW, she provides biostatistical and methodological input to various health research projects. Alice is a member of the WHO Thematic Platform for Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management Research Network and has lead and co-authored research methods chapters on natural experiment design and health disaster and emergency research data.

Prior to her academic role, she mainly worked in the private sector, in roles such as logistics accounts investigator for Fonterra Group and transfer pricing, international tax, consultant for EY NZ Limited.

Outside of work, Alice studies the body-mind connection through the practice of Bihar yoga, and is a member of a group working towards reducing the impact of child poverty.
