Email addresses

Capitalise the 'E' only when it is the first word in a sentence, or when used for contact details. Email addresses should be kept on one line wherever possible.

Use only the email address itself as the link text when writing for the web and avoid using capital letters within the address.

Telephone numbers

The following are acceptable formats for telephone numbers:

479 1100
479 1100 ext 8567
03 479 1100
021 279 110
64 3 479 1100
64 21 279 1100

Choose the best option for your particular audience so they know which prefix to use. Including prefixes makes dialing easier for mobile users. The international format (+64 3 479 1100) is the preferred format when writing for the web.

About the Writing Style Guide
