Bedrooms
192 Castle offers 125 fully furnished single-student rooms, providing a comfortable and personal space to study and relax. We also have single-gender and alcohol-free areas to suit different resident needs and preferences. All rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, complete with handbasin, toilet and separate shower.
Our domestic staff vacuum rooms and empty rubbish twice a week, helping to keep your space clean and comfortable. You’ll be responsible for managing your own recycling.
Fresh sheets and pillowcases are provided and can be exchanged for clean ones each week.
Main building
Bedrooms range in size from 12m2 to 17.5m2.
The West Wing
The West Wing has a central common room with nine bedrooms leading from it. The bedrooms here range in size from 10m2 to 15m2. The central common room is for West Wing residents to use for study or to relax.
Bedroom furnishings
Bedrooms come equipped with:
- Queen beds (including sheets) in the main building
- King single beds in the West Wing
- Central heating
- Wardrobe, shelving, drawer unit, desk, chair, and notice board
Personal fridges
We have a limited number of fridges which residents can rent at a cost of $100 for the year. These are issued on a first come first serve basis.
Bathrooms
There are communal bathrooms located on ground and third floor.
Dining and breakfast rooms
Starting in 2027, lunch and dinner will be served at Hayward College located no more than 3 minutes away en-route to Campus. This is a great opportunity to catch up with your friends and enjoy the in-house cuisine.
Our Food Service Manager and qualified kitchen team prepare 3 plentiful healthy meals daily.
Breakfast will still be served at 192. We have a large dining facility here where residents can snack throughout the day and access hot drinks 24/7
Late meals can be ordered through your Te Puna portal under the ‘self service’ tab or you can speak to one of the kitchen staff or reception in the morning. You can also make your own packed lunch before 10:00am daily.

Common areas
Common room / theatre / recreation room / reception / roof garden
Throughout the College there are a number of open common areas for you to hang out with friends socially. Here you can play snooker, pool, table tennis, Playstation or Xbox. Or, you can just relax, read a book or scroll on your phone in the company of friends. There are also numerous board games to choose from.
We also have a number of musical instruments available to use in these areas.
Study spaces
192 Castle has a large classroom with all the equipment necessary to provide tutorials and there are desks located in all of the common areas where residents are free to drop in and lock in on their study. We also have a computer room should a resident have technical difficulties with their personal laptops.
Exercise room
We have an in-house exercise room with plenty of machines and devices to keep you active and fit.
