Seminar rooms

The Hunter Centre features two mid-size seminar rooms with a comfortable seating capacity of 30. These rooms can be joined by the opening a dividable wall, providing a seating capacity of 60. The rooms feature:

  • Work desks
  • Presentation equipment (including audio-visual equipment and a PC computer)
  • Teaching console with input for laptop computer

Tutorial rooms

The Hunter Centre's small group tutorial rooms are typically set up to seat 12 people comfortably, although they can accommodate 16. The rooms feature:

  • Computer equipment
  • Audio-visual equipment
  • Large plasma video screen
  • Wireless Internet access point
  • Access to outdoor courtyard

Clinical skills room

The clinical skills room is a small group tutorial room typically set up to seat 12 people comfortably, although it can accommodate 16. The room's fittings are suited to the Early Learning in Medicine (ELM) clinical skills programme:

  • Examination beds
  • Privacy screens
  • Other clinical equipment
  • Computer equipment
  • Large plasma video screen
  • Wireless Internet

Video conferencing

A variety of video conference options are available at Hunter Centre. Using both hardware and software based equipment, we provide video conference services for groups ranging from one person to a class-sized group of 90 persons.

Audio conferencing

Our conference phone equipment is suitable for one-to-one and many-to-many person calls, and can be set up in any of our meeting or teaching rooms.

Social spaces at the Hunter Centre

The atrium

The Hunter Centre's central atrium is a large circulation space that includes seating for studying, meetings, eating lunch, or just relaxing. It's also an ideal venue for formal functions, with plenty of space for guests to mingle.

Student common room

The Hunter Centre houses a modest student common room, adjacent to the Hunter Café and available for use by all Health Sciences students. It features:

  • Microwaves
  • A small fridge
  • A sandwich press
  • A benchtop oven
  • A hot water Zip

Students' associations

Five OUSA-affiliated students' associations have their offices on the ground floor of the Hunter Centre:
