The purpose of this funding is to support the developing partnerships across the health system. Health New Zealand want to create the capacity for the physiotherapy workforce to implement the National Hospital and Specialist Services Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Pathway.
The funding is limited to the PHTY535 Advanced Physiotherapy Management paper at the University of Otago and covers the paper and compulsory student services fees.
Who can apply for funding
You can apply if you are:
- an experienced physiotherapist
- working in musculoskeletal services
- employed in primary and community care
- seeking to develop your advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
As a workforce development initiative in primary care, Health New Zealand employees are not eligible for this funding.

When you are ready to apply for PHTY 535
In order to undertake study in PHTY 535: Advanced Physiotherapy Management, you will first need to enrol in the Certificate of Proficiency (COP).

Use the “Start application” link on this page to apply for the CoP, and select Dunedin as the study location – even if you will be undertaking distance study.
