Ko te iwi te wairua o te waka, ko te waka te wairua o te iwi
The people are the spirit of the canoe, the canoe is the spirit of the people
Ko Te Roopū Whakakaha Tinana matou. We are the Māori students' association for the School of Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences (PEMA). Working collaboratively with Te Roopū Māori o Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo.
Our Kaupapa
PEMA is a space for Māori students in the School of Physical Education to connect, support, and grow together. Grounded in whanaungatanga and the principles of tuakana/teina, we foster strong relationships across all year levels and create a supportive sense of whānau.
We encourage academic success through peer support, tutorials, and opportunities to come together, learn, and celebrate as Māori students.
