Help make our University and the world a more sustainable and healthier place

We aspire to become a recognised centre of excellence for sustainability, in practice and research

Otago was the first New Zealand University to sign the international SDG Accord pursuing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, in 2018.

We will be bold, integrating sustainability principles and practices across all our campuses and throughout all our activities.

We can be the ones to make the change, because we have to be.

Applications for 2021 are now closed

A new initiative in 2021, you could have the opportunity to live in a “Sustainable flat” where your mates care about the environment, where you can learn about living more sustainably, and be part of research into how students can have a positive impact.

If you got amongst it with “Green your Scene” this year the sustainability neighbourhood is an option to stay amongst it while flatting.

Let’s make it happen!
