Senior Clinical Lecturer
Anu is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Occupational and Aviation Medicine Unit at the University of Otago. She assists with teaching research methods (AVME 785/885) and supervises postgraduate research students. With a professional nursing background, she holds a PhD in Health Sciences from this unit, where she focused on non-technical skills in high-acuity maternity aeromedical transport.
Research interests
Anu's research covers patient safety, non-technical skills, human error, quality of care, teamwork, occupational health and wellbeing, organisational culture, and aeromedical transfers. She also collaborates on studies in Sri Lanka exploring medication errors, fatigue, and nurses’ quality of life. She serves as a reviewer for the International Journal for Quality in Health Care (Oxford University Press), a leading Q1-ranked journal in safety and quality.
