Dr Adele Woolley

Adele WoolleyBPhEd, BSc, DipSci, PhD

Dr Adele Woolley is a Research Fellow associated with the Cell Transformation Group (CTG) in the Department of Pathology.

Adele completed undergraduate degrees in Physical Education and Physiology. She went on to complete a postgraduate degree in neuroscience and a PhD in developmental neurobiology. Since 2006, she has been working in the CTG, under the mentorship of Professor Braithwaite.

Her research interests lie in the area of developmental pathways that are re-expressed in cancer. Adele is currently working on a number of projects including YBX-1 in breast cancer with a particular focus on epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), BRCA1 signalling pathways in ovarian cell biology and is also investigating the interaction of p53 isoforms with p53 using a zebrafish model.
