Faculty of Dentistry Clinical and Research Excellence Symposium
We welcome all with an interest in dental and oral health research and clinical practice to join us for the 2026 Faculty of Dentistry Clinical and Research Excellence Symposium.
The programme will feature presentations from internationally renown clinicians and researchers, as well as presentations highlighting clinical cases and research achievements of our staff and postgraduate students.
Our international keynote speaker is Emeritus Professor Frauke Müller of the University of Geneva, a world-renowned expert in gerodontology and removable prosthodontics, and our 2026 Sir Thomas K Sidey Visiting Professor.
Registrations are now open via our Symposium website. Registration is free for in-person attendance, supported by our generous sponsors, and is required for catering and logistics purposes. CPD points will be available for all sessions of the meeting.
The symposium will run from 10am to approximately 4:15pm on 16 September, and from 9am to approximately 3:15pm on 17 September. The full schedule and programme and abstract book, including biographies of our keynote and invited staff speakers, will be made available to registrants the week of the event.
For those outside Dunedin, a livestream will be available for registrants who are attending for CPD purposes, and will enable remote participants to watch live and contribute questions for the presenters, and watch back on catchup for a period after the event. A small fee is associated with registration for online attendance, to offset the cost of producing the livestream. Our local audience are encouraged to register for free to take part in person and support our staff and student presenters.
This event is made possible by the support of our sponsors: Dentsply Sirona, Ivoclar, Lumino the Dentists, MAS, Neoss, Pharmaco, Solventum and Straumann.
Looking forward to seeing you in September!
