COVID-19 ESS Update
Kia ora koutou katoa
We would like to update you with the University of Otago Education Support Services’ (ESS) approach to providing Professional Learning and Development (PLD) support to schools/kura and centres across the country.
In the last few months we have seen a significant shift in the way that PLD has been delivered via online learning, and with this we have found that there have been many positive aspects for both schools/kura and centres, as well as our facilitation team. We see substantial benefits in a blended approach of onsite and online PLD delivery.
Facilitators across all of our contracts, including PfS, PCT/OTT, Reading Recovery, SELO, School Leavers’ Toolkit and centrally-funded PLD have the expertise to take varying approaches to PLD delivery and will adapt their support to the needs of your school/kura and centres. This will include a blended approach to delivery in all areas.
ESS PLD facilitators will continue to consult with you about how best to deliver centrally-funded professional learning in a blended delivery model, including face to face and online, according to your needs.
