The Department of Human Nutrition offers a consulting service to organisations and businesses both in New Zealand and internationally.

Healthy food choices are important for optimising general health and prevention of disease states. The Department of Human Nutrition offers a range of research testing services. This service helps assist food companies in the new product development process or reformulations to ensure they are providing an optimal food product, beverage or supplement for the consumer.

Research tests available include:

  • Clinical trials
  • Effect of food/beverage on glucose and lipid levels
  • Sports nutrition intervention trials

The Department of Human Nutrition staff are available for consultation on any potential project you may have.


Quantity Recipe Cards

These cards were formerly known as "Home Science Catering Cards" and were first produced in 1943. They were extensively revised in 2000, and breakfast, fish, chicken, soup, vegetarian, and vegetable sections were added, along with a Christmas baking section. All recipes include safe handling practices, enabling their use with a Hazard Analysis Clinical Control Point Programme.
